Different Roads to Learning is happy to ship internationally and support learners around the world. We understand that international shipping and customs can be confusing and sometimes expensive, so we’ve answered some common questions below.

If you need help at any time, please email us at info@difflearn.com or call 800-853-1057. We are always happy to assist.

What are the shipping rates to my country?

We ship worldwide using several carriers.

The easiest way to see your exact shipping cost is to:

  1. Add items to your cart
  2. Go to checkout
  3. Enter your shipping address

You will then see all available shipping options and prices for your location.

What are customs fees?

Customs fees are charges applied when goods are imported into a country. These may include:

  • Duties (tariffs)
  • Taxes (such as VAT or GST)
  • Processing or brokerage fees

These fees are set by your country’s customs authority, not by Different Roads.

Does the shipping cost include customs fees?

No. Shipping costs do not include customs fees.

Any customs charges must be paid by the recipient when the shipment arrives in the destination country. These fees are determined by the government of your country, and we are not able to include them in our shipping prices.

We do our best to help reduce these costs by clearly labeling shipments as Special Needs Educational Material, but we cannot guarantee or predict the final fees.

How much will customs fees be?

Customs fees vary depending on:

  • The value of the order
  • The type of products
  • Your country’s regulations

Because of this, we cannot calculate or guarantee these fees in advance.

The shipping carrier (such as UPS) or your local customs office will contact you if payment is required before delivery.

Who pays customs fees?

The recipient (customer) is responsible for paying customs fees.

Does Different Roads provide customs brokerage?

No, we do not provide brokerage services.

However, we can provide:

  • Commercial invoices
  • Certificates of Conformity

If your country requires additional documentation, we recommend working with a customs broker in your country.

What shipping methods do you recommend?

This depends on your priorities:

·        Lower cost option: USPS First Class International

o   Delivery time: about 3 to 4 weeks

o   Often lower shipping cost and sometimes lower customs charges

·        Faster delivery: UPS Worldwide

o   Delivery time: about 2 to 4 days

o   Faster, but may include higher customs scrutiny and brokerage fees

For customers in Canada: What is CARM?

CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management) is a system used by the Canada Border Services Agency to manage duties and taxes on imported goods.

  • It mainly applies to businesses, schools, and organizations importing goods
  • These groups may need to register for a CARM account
  • Individual customers receiving personal orders usually do not need to register

If you are unsure, we recommend checking directly with CBSA.
