Detailed Description
A unique, interactive program designed to help young learners explore and understand the wide spectrum of human emotions. The program is divided into three sections: Emotions Library, Learning Center and Games Zone. In the Emotions Library, male and female actors of various ethnic groups and ages express emotions in video and audio performances, as well as in contextual, real-life mini-stories. There are more than 7,000 separate examples by 50 actors. Six video and six audio clips are presented for each of the 412 emotions, which are sorted into 24 groups. There are definitions and stories for each feeling, a search facility, and a personalized scrapbook. In the Learning Center, students improve their emotion recognition skills through a variety of lessons and quizzes. Difficulty can be adjusted according to the students level and collectible rewards are on hand to use as motivational reinforcers. In the Game Zone, users are encouraged to explore the world of emotions and how they are expressed in real life situations. Students can visit a school, office or store to see specific situations and how they make us feel. There are also card games that rely on matching faces and feelings in order to win. There are six levels of difficulty and users can select an adult, child or cartoon character to help them navigate the program as their helper. In addition, there is a Mind Reading Manager that enables experienced users and teachers to create lesson plans, language filters and rewards. This is an excellent visual and auditory tool for those looking to help their students understand, identify and generalize emotions.
