Detailed Description
The GADS has been designed to evaluate children with unique behavioral issues who may have Asperger's Disorder. The assessment can be completed by a parent or professional who knows the child and takes approximately 5-10 minutes. The GADS provides documentation of the essential behavioral characteristics of Asperger's necessary for diagnosis. It can be used to assess, document behavioral progress, target goals for IEPs, and for research purposes. There are 32 clearly stated items divided into four subscales that describe specific, observable, and measurable behaviors. Eight additional items are included for parents to contribute data on the first 3 years of the child's development. Standard scores and percentiles are provided, as is a table for determining the likelihood that an individual has Asperger's. There is also a comprehensive list of books, journals, media, Internet sites and organizations for additional information.
The Kit contains the Examiner's Manual and 25 Summary/Response Forms in a sturdy box.
